BEYOND THE ARTS & CRAFTS SCENE

Formed in 1933, the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen is the longest established association of professional makers in Britain with an ambition, born out of the vibrant Cotswolds Arts and Crafts movement, to promote fine craftsmanship and good design. Enjoy a buffet brunch with longstanding members Sarah Beadsmoore, textile designer and weaver, and Valerie Michael, author of The Leatherworking Handbook and designer/maker of hand stitched leather goods. Hear them talk about the history of the guild and what it means to them, woven in with stories of trips to Japan, Thailand and even an appearance on the Fourth Plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square.
